Northern Rock Guernsey Closure

Northern Rock customers have until 2nd September 2010 to withdraw your cash, after which the interest on all accounts will fall to 0.05% with effect from midnight on 2nd September 2010. As a goodwill gesture, many customers will be compensated for closing accounts. The minimum compensation payment is £20 – for fixed rate accounts it is calculated as equivalent to 10 days’ interest at your current payable rate. However, you will lose your entitlement to any compensation if you miss the 2nd September deadline.
